Position Overview Under the direction of the Manager or Team Lead, the Consultant Pharmacist IV participates in drug utilization review and medication management programs within Clinical Pharmacy Services (CPS). Responsibilities include handling live calls, reviewing drug therapy, managing prior authorization requests, and developing clinical drug use criteria. The role also involves training and supervising pharmacy staff. Key Responsibilities Provide training and guidance to pharmacy staff. Coordinate prior authorization requests, ensure compliance with deadlines. Participate in program planning and development. Develop clinical drug use criteria for DUR activities. Research member cases and represent the client in appeals. Conduct medication therapy reviews and interact with healthcare providers and members. Provide real-time drug therapy recommendations. Review clinical documentation for medical necessity and compliance. Decide on prior authorization requests via telephone. Contribute to advisory boards and quality initiatives. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Bachelor\’s in Pharmacy with 3 years of experience OR Doctor of Pharmacy with 2 years of pharmacy experience or completion of 2-year residency OR Doctor of Pharmacy with 1-year residency and 1-year pharmacy experience OR Doctor of Pharmacy with managed care residency.
