Role Overview

We’re looking for a Product Designer to join our small and growing UK team. We’re seeking a motivated, versatile creator with interests spanning user research, strategy, UX and UI, design systems, and designing for and with AI. As our first designer in the UK, you’ll work alongside an experienced Product Design Director day‑to‑day. You’ll also join a wider team of talented designers across the Nordics and the US, and will have opportunities to collaborate and shape work together. The role requires someone who can self‑organise and generate momentum when needed, but also provides robust support and a pathway to growth and development.

What You’ll Do

  • Create valuable, beautiful, and implementable UX/UI design informed by data and research.
  • Drive design delivery independently or within cross‑functional, often hybrid or remote teams.
  • Take ownership of design processes from brief to final delivery, with support from senior leadership.
  • Work with design systems to maintain consistency across platforms.
  • Engage directly with stakeholders to align on project goals and outcomes.
  • Foster a positive design culture by mentoring junior designers and sharing expertise.
  • Maintain an active interest in design and adjacent fields as tools, processes, and methods evolve, and share learnings with the wider Umain community.
  • Communicate progress clearly, manage expectations, and proactively mitigate risks.
  • Support business development by contributing to proposals.
  • Support the growth of our London office through hands‑on operational work, helping establish effective processes, team rituals, and ways of working.
  • Provide design support to internal and external initiatives to ensure our public profile reflects our brand at its best.

What We’re Looking For

  • 3+ years proven experience in digital product design, creating impactful user experiences with a strong UX/UI focus and attention to detail.
  • A solid portfolio demonstrating your craft.
  • Skilled in Figma, with a solid understanding of building from, creating and maintaining design systems.
  • Strong experience in making your designs implementable and aligned with platform and developer needs.
  • Able to clearly articulate design rationale, connecting decisions to user needs, business goals, and technical constraints.

What We Value

  • A consulting mindset: hypothesis‑driven, structured, and client‑centric.
  • Happiest when working together with technology and design.
  • The ability to operate at both strategic and tactical levels.
  • Comfort working in dynamic, ambiguous environment.

Why Join Us

  • 30 days paid holiday.
  • Regular international travel, with opportunities to work and connect in Sweden, the Netherlands, and the US.
  • Play a central role in scaling a fast‑growing business.
  • Latest Apple kit (MacBook + iPhone) to do your best work.
  • Twice‑yearly company conferences in standout European locations to connect, learn, and celebrate.

Portfolio

A portfolio submission is required for this role. Applications without a portfolio will not be reviewed.
