Your Role

As a Product Development Manager at Ultromics, you will play a pivotal role in guiding AI-driven medical device products from concept through to commercialisation and post-market success. You will be responsible for managing the product lifecycle in line with Ultromics’ Product Development Management Framework, ensuring every stage, from opportunity assessment through validation, launch, and continuous improvement, is executed efficiently, compliantly, and in alignment with clinical and business priorities.

You’ll work at the intersection of clinical science, engineering, and commercial strategy, translating the company’s mission to transform cardiovascular care into clear product requirements and delivery plans.

Your Responsibilities

  • Translate portfolio strategy into clear tactical product deliverables and measurable outcomes.
  • Identify unmet clinical and customer needs through research, market analysis, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Drive the product vision, positioning, and value propositions through the product development and into the commercial GTM.
  • Understand and ensure the business cases for assigned products are delivered through product development decisions.

Product Lifecycle Management

  • Manage the full product lifecycle in line with the Product Development Processes, including concept, feasibility, development, validation, launch, and post-market phases.
  • Maintain accountability for documentation, traceability, and compliance throughout the lifecycle.
  • Collaborate with Regulatory, Quality, and Engineering teams to ensure products, changes and updates meet ISO 13485, ISO 62304, and FDA 21 CFR Part 820 standards.
  • Follow good information governance practice throughout this job role and ensure compliance with Ultromics’ information security and data protection policies in all applicable assigned tasks.
  • Track and report on product performance post-launch, ensuring feedback loops drive ongoing improvement and evidence generation.
  • Continually assess project management processes for efficiency improvements and automation using AI.

Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Serve as the primary point of coordination between Product, Engineering, AI, Clinical, and Commercial teams.
  • Work with the other product team members and closely with the CPO and VP of Medical Device Engineering to ensure the roadmap is technically feasible and aligned with resource capacity.
  • Support clear communication between product discovery (CPO), delivery (Engineering), and validation (Clinical and Regulatory).
  • Facilitate sprint and milestone planning with technical and clinical leaders, ensuring delivery remains focused on intended outcomes.

Evidence and Validation Planning

  • Collaborate with the Clinical, Regulatory and Market Access teams to plan validation activities, ensuring clinical performance supports intended use and labeling.
  • Support evidence generation activities and clinical study design relevant to regulatory submissions and reimbursement.
  • Ensure that data requirements for AI development are defined and validated against clinical and product needs.

Go-to-Market and Post-Market Activities

  • Support launch planning, including messaging and customer readiness activities.
  • Partner with Marketing and Commercial teams to translate technical and clinical value into clear customer benefits.
  • Oversee post-market surveillance, product feedback, and performance monitoring in collaboration with Quality, Service, Engineering and Clinical teams.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives based on real-world product performance and customer experience.

Requirements

Your skills and experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
  • 4+ years’ experience in product management or equivalent role within medical devices, digital health, or healthcare technology.
  • Proven ability to manage complex, cross-functional projects through structured product development processes.
  • Strong understanding of medical device regulations, quality management systems, and evidence generation.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and documentation skills.
  • Experience translating clinical needs and data insights into actionable product requirements.

Your Desired Skills and Experience

  • Advanced degree.
  • Experience in AI-enabled medical devices or software as a medical device (SaMD).
  • Familiarity with ISO 13485, ISO 14971, ISO 62304, and regulatory submissions (FDA, MDR, UKCA).
  • Experience using QMS such as Confluence.
  • Experience with project Management tools such as Jira.
  • Understanding of echocardiography or cardiovascular medicine.
  • Experience in a venture-backed start-up or scale-up environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to balance clinical, commercial, and technical priorities.
