We are seeking a skilled Vehicle Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of vehicles to ensure optimal performance and safety. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a strong mechanical background and a passion for vehicle maintenance. Duties
- Conduct comprehensive diagnostics using schematics and technical manuals to identify faults.
- Perform repairs and maintenance on vehicles, including engine, transmission, brakes, suspension, and electrical systems.
- Utilise hand tools, power tools, and specialised equipment to carry out assembly and repair tasks efficiently.
- Repair or replace faulty components, ensuring adherence to safety standards and manufacturer specifications.
- Carry out welding and equipment repair as required to restore vehicle integrity.
- Assist with the installation of new parts or accessories, ensuring proper fitment and functionality.
- Maintain detailed records of all work carried out for each vehicle.
- Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance to minimise future issues.
- Provide excellent customer service by explaining repairs clearly and offering advice on vehicle care.
Skills
- The ideal candidate will have product and promotional information experience (preferable).
- To have a good understanding of motor vehicle specifications; understanding of vehicle layout, function, and location of parts.
- Have general experience within the retail motor industry and automotive systems.
- Experience in approved and established procedures for conducting service, repairs, and the ability to conduct MOTs is desirable, but not mandatory.
- Ability to perform vehicle problem diagnosis, repair and warranty procedures.
- Quality control inspections and general procedures.
- Experienced using specialist equipment and tools for vehicle repair and servicing.
- Have a developing knowledge of National and where possible European regulations, restrictions and legislation relevant to the motor industry.
