About the Role: Ultra LEDs is a busy and fast-paced lighting company based in Trafford Park. We are looking for an organised and reliable warehouse operative with picker and packer experience to join our warehouse team. The ideal candidate will have excellent attention to detail, the ability to work quickly and accurately, and a strong commitment to health and safety, stock accuracy, teamwork, and focus on meeting daily targets while maintaining high-quality standards. Working hours are 8:30am – 5:00pm with flexibility.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accurately pick lighting products and components from warehouse locations using pick sheets, scanners, or digital systems.
- Pack orders safely and securely to prevent damage during transit, ensuring all items meet company packaging standards.
- Prepare parcels for dispatch, including labelling, wrapping, and palletising where required.
- Conduct stock checks and assist with inventory management as needed.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment in line with health & safety procedures.
- Report discrepancies, stock shortages, or damaged goods promptly to the Warehouse Manager.
- Work collaboratively with warehouse colleagues to meet daily output targets and deadlines.
- Assist with goods-in duties such as unloading deliveries and replenishing stock.
- Support warehouse operations including goods in, goods out, stock movements, and booking stock in/out.
- Manually handle stock and goods, including lifting and moving heavy items – must be physically fit and able to manage repetitive tasks.
- Accurately pick and pack orders using handheld scanners in a fast-paced environment.
- Proven experience in order picking and packing, ideally using handheld scanners.
- Assist with stock control, including cycle counts, stock checks, and investigating discrepancies.
- Use warehouse systems and Microsoft Office tools for stock management and documentation.
- Adhere to all Health & Safety regulations, follow risk assessments and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Support the team with general warehouse duties as required, including maintaining a clean and safe working environment.
Skills and Experience Required:
- Previous experience in a warehouse, picking/packing, or distribution environment (lighting industry experience is beneficial).
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
- Good physical fitness – able to stand for long periods and lift moderate weights.
- Basic computer literacy (experience with scanners or warehouse software desirable).
- Strong time-management skills with the ability to prioritise tasks.
- Strong awareness of Health & Safety and risk management in a warehouse setting.
- Reach Truck licence is advantageous but not essential.
- A positive, proactive attitude and willingness to support the wider team.
