Ultracardiac Ltd are a leading provider of Diagnostic Services in the South West and are looking for a Respiratory Physiologist to join our growing diagnostic provision. This is an exciting opportunity to join an organisation and service that is growing rapidly, and to join a team committed to delivering the highest standards of quality and care. We have a position available in Cornwall.
Main duties of the job
- Deliver a range of respiratory diagnostic tests including Spirometry, FeNO, Measurement of carbon monoxide transfer factor and Static lung volumes by whole body plethysmography.
- Be a part of the wider Respiratory Team and help deliver services at the highest standards of quality in modern and purpose-built facilities that are accessible to patients and help to support NHS waiting lists.

About us
Ultracardiac are an established and trusted provider of Diagnostic Services across the South West. For many years we have held a number of contracts that support both primary and secondary care pathways, and work with the majority of NHS Trusts and ICBs in the region. We have been growing our services by supporting Community Diagnostic Centres across the South West more recently, and are expanding our provision beyond Cardiology to include other diagnostic modalities.

Job responsibilities
- Independently perform a variety of respiratory investigations including spirometry, FeNO, gas transfer and static lung volumes.
- Ensure accurate test interpretation and timely reporting in line with national standards and protocols.
- Maintain high standards of infection control, patient care, and clinical safety.
- Work as part of a regional team with occasional travel to other Ultracardiac sites.
- Assist in equipment calibration, maintenance and quality control procedures.
- Participate in clinical audit, service evaluation, and continuous quality improvement.
- Support the training and supervision of trainees and junior staff.
- Maintain up-to-date professional knowledge and registration.
Person Specification
Professional Registration
- To have or be working towards professional registration with the AHCS or HCPC.
Qualifications
- BSc (Hons) Clinical Physiology (Respiratory), Healthcare Science (Respiratory) or equivalent.
- To have or be working towards obtaining ARTP Practitioner examination (Level III) qualification.
Experience
- Competent in performing and interpreting a wide range of respiratory investigations (e.g. spirometry, FeNO, gas transfer, static lung volumes).
Additional Criteria
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong organisation skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
