Ultra CEMS is currently looking for a Product Engineering Manager. The Product Engineering Manager in the electronics manufacturing industry is responsible for overseeing and improving the management, control, security and loading of customer data into the business and bridges the gap between the customer and the process engineering team.
This role involves leading a team of engineers and technicians who manage, manipulate, and control any customer data from receipt, recording and categorizing the classification of the data, analyzing the information received, determining the security classifications and flowâdown requirements, storing the data, and loading and releasing the data onto the ERP system to be utilized by the rest of the business including part control and management.
Collaborating with other departments and implementing best practices. Combining technical expertise with strategic foresight, identifying bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and areas for improvement, leveraging advanced methodologies such as Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement frameworks. Working closely with the Process Engineering team and enabling strong data transition so that processes can be easily defined.
Key Responsibilities- Leadership and Management: Lead and mentor a team of product engineers and technicians, providing guidance and support.
- Process Improvement: Analyze current processes and procedures and identify areas for improvement. Implement changes to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve product quality.
- Project Management: Manage projects from conception to completion, ensuring they meet deadlines and budget constraints.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other departments to ensure seamless integration of processes.
- Compliance: Ensure all processes and procedures comply with industry standards and regulations. Critical role in fostering a culture of safety and sustainability within the organization, undertaking initiatives that minimize environmental impact and ensure the wellâbeing of employees.
- Reporting: Prepare and present reports on process performance, improvements, and outcomes to the General Manager.
- Education: A degree/HNC/HND in Engineering (Mechanical, Electronic, etc.) or a related field.
- Experience: Several years of experience in process and product engineering, with a proven track record of managing teams and projects.
- Technical Skills: Knowledge of electronics manufacturing processes such as SMT (Surface Mount Technology), PCB (Printed Circuit Board) assembly, and testing.
- Analytical Skills: Strong problemâsolving abilities and analytical thinking.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Leadership Skills: Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a team.
- Environment: Office and manufacturing plant settings.
- Hours: Full-time, with occasional overtime or weekend work as needed.
