Ultra Precision Control Systems (PCS) are looking for a Production Supervisor to join the manufacturing function.
Job purpose:
- To manage & lead a small team of operations production staff
- Manage Holidays, sickness, time keeping & discipline across the team to ensure no loss of production
- Working with the Production Manager to deliver an agreed monthly plan
- Monitor the team's performance using agreed KPI's
- Manage, monitor & review labour bookings
- Hold Daily team meetings to review progress against the plan & update the team to known issues
- Assist in the creation of shop order paperwork as required, including Route cards
- Ensure shop order turnaround time is achieved
- Close completed shop orders & move parts into stock
- Scanning of completed paperwork onto the companies MRP system
- Ensure an effective 6S and FOD program is run throughout the team
- Work with the Production Manager to identify skills gaps & maintain a skills matrix for the team
- Work with cross functional support teams to manage non-conforming materials, general production issues & ensure timely resolution
- Ensure safe use and management of equipment and machinery
- Agree any overtime requirements in advance with the Production Manager
- To carry out any other duties as may be reasonably requested
Key responsibilities:
- Report to the Production Manager on all aspects of the team's performance
- Ensure Production priorities are agreed and well communicated
- Create a healthy & motivating work environment for the team
- Listen to team members & resolve any issues & conflicts
- To be able manage their own time in an effective manner
- Carry out individual performance & development reviews for all team members on a monthly / quarterly basis to ensure adherence to agreed KPI's.
- Carry out individual performance & self-development reviews for all team members
- Maintain awareness & attend training courses as required
- Always adhere to Company Procedure
Qualifications/Experience:
- Previous experience in a Supervisor or similar role leading a small team
- Self-motivated and organised with a results driven approach
- Good Communication and Interpersonal skills
- Experience with use of MS Office applications
