Job Description

If yes, this opportunity at Ultra Maritime in High Wycombe is for you. As a Systems Engineering Manager, you will ensure the engineering function provides expertise throughout project bid and development cycles.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and mentor a team of System Engineers, allocating work and providing technical direction.
- Ensure project and statutory requirements are met, improving the systems design function.
- Develop systems engineering tools, processes, and capabilities.
- Develop technical solutions for complex engineering problems, following Systems Engineering processes.
- Create Systems Engineering artefacts across the product lifecycle to ensure positive project outcomes.
- Design, develop, and deliver Systems Engineering artefacts for projects.
- Collaborate with system, hardware, and software teams to ensure consistency and design excellence.
- Lead design reviews and present to management and customers.
- Contribute to project aspects to balance requirements, schedule, and costs.
- Manage customer and supplier relationships to ensure compliance and project success.
- Generate technical proposals, estimates, and lead bid efforts.
- Estimate effort for systems activities and ensure adherence to schedules and budgets.
- Review and approve technical documents; chair reviews.
- Explain complex concepts clearly to less technical stakeholders.
- Manage information security in compliance with regulations.
Personal Attributes and Skills
- Strong understanding and deployment of Systems Engineering in complex projects.
- Experience in developing high-quality requirements and compliant designs.
- Proficiency in technical documentation and reviews.
- Experience with JAMA and embedded hardware/software/firmware development.
