Job Description: Ultra Precision Control Systems (PCS) are looking for a Materials and Logistics Operator. Working as part of a team producing high standard of work to support manufacturing in their fulfilment of our customer commitments. To manage the movement of materials according to aerospace industry standards and practices. To maintain very high levels of stock control and integrity and to support the activities of our manufacturing and development requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Goods Inwards: To ensure accurate receipt of goods including customer products into the business.
  • To book in all goods, including customer returned products, onto IFS in a timely and logical manner in line with agreed processes.
  • Basic inspection (verification) of goods against delivery documentation.
  • Scanning all received documentation to agreed locations.
  • Any variance to paperwork and purchase orders are identified and reported.
  • To liaise with other areas of the business to ensure identified issues are dealt with in a timely manner.
  • To book in all items received from Ultra’s customers for repair.
  • Contact suppliers and customers to deal with issues stopping the booking in of goods and products.
  • Stores: Receipt of production material to store.
  • Storage and retrieval of production material maintaining excellent standards of location control and lot/serial traceability.
  • Picking and issuing of production material against production and repair works orders.
  • Picking and issuing of material to development and other non-production requirements.
  • Despatch of goods against customer sales orders.
  • To maintain high levels of stock accuracy through annual stock takes, daily cycle checking, and by promptly reporting discrepancies found during daily activities.
  • To investigate stock discrepancies to resolution via the stock comparison data.
  • Work to Ultra and aerospace industry standard procedures.
  • Ensure that all documentation is up-to-date and completed in accordance with company procedures.
  • Ensure all H&S policies are adhered to by proactively committing and minimising potential risk hazards and promote awareness to the team daily.
  • To actively contribute to, and where appropriate lead, improvement initiatives. To make and act upon recommendations to improve the quality of services provided by stores.
  • To maintain the high-quality standards that our customers expect.
  • Containment of non-conformance material.
  • There may be additional activities to perform from time to time in order to maximise the contribution to Ultra Electronics’ goals and objectives.

Essential

  • Experience in working in a stores or warehouse/despatch environment.
  • Ability to work on own and within a team.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Able to follow and give instructions.
  • Demonstrates good attention to detail producing consistently high-quality work.
  • Computer literate.
  • Adaptable and flexible approach to their work.
  • Experience in managing their daily key activities to achieve timescales to quality.

Desirable

  • Has worked in an Aerospace organisation.
  • Has previous knowledge of ERP/MRP systems.
  • ONC, City and Guilds or equivalent qualification in a technical discipline.
