Job Description
Ultra Precision Control Systems are looking for a Manufacturing Engineering Manager. As the Manufacturing Engineering Manager you will lead, manage and develop a team of manufacturing engineers responsible for the design, development, validation and ongoing support of production systems to ensure the system produces product that consistently fulfils technical, quality and cost requirements. Develop a proactive team that exceed expectations in goals and objectives and demonstrate Ultras leadership behaviours. The creation and implementation of best practice manufacturing engineering as well as developing, implementing and managing key performance indicators (KPIs). In the role you will be expected to drive continuous improvement activities in quality, cycle times, process improvement & machine availability. Design, prove, implement, and maintain production systems to deliver product on time, to quality and cost requirements. A key element of the role is to manage and lead the team, ensuring adequate staffing levels, managing holiday allowances, recruitment, training, development, appraisal, attendance, disciplinary issues and daily supervision to maximise efficient productivity.

Change Process Management
- Sanitise Design Data through Review and CR
- ERP Change Embodiment
Process Control & Improvement
- PFMEA creation and management
- Create, maintain Work instructions, USP’s etc.
- Root Cause & Corrective Action (RCCA) on manufacturing FRACAS
- RCCA on Manufacturing related Audit NC’s
- Resolve Problems with industrial process engineering techniques
- Analysis and Maintenance of STD times
Assembly equipment & tooling
- Design and implementation of tooling
- Manage the provision of Assembly Equipment
Supplier Development
- Resolve issues within the Supply Chain
- Manage the provision of Assembly Equipment
Training
- Provide training for Supply Chain
- Create, maintain and deliver training for internal and relevant supplier manufacturing processes.
Skills & Experience Required:
Essential
- Educated to degree level in an Engineering or Science Discipline or equivalent
- Experience with the development and sustainment of programs to meet Quality, Cost and Delivery requirements
- Expert knowledge and application experience of the required tools and techniques required to embed process engineering solutions (e.g Control Plans, PFMEAs, KPIs, SPC, VSM, Process Mapping)
- Ability to create a high performing team and maintain effective professional relationships with internal and external suppliers and other members of staff.
- Good communication skills demonstrated both verbally and in the generation of documentation
- Track competencies of the team and provide leadership and development as required to achieve the objectives, including the development of apprentices
- Self-driven and able to monitor own performance effectively to ensure commitments and deadlines are met
- Effectively able to manage productivity of the team and establish KPI’s for continuous improvement
- Effective planning and organising capabilities
Desirable
- Has worked in an Aerospace Organisation
- Experience in Global sourcing
- Experience in Aerospace standards (e.g. EASA Part 21, AS9100, etc)
