We provide flexible start and finish times, as well as Time off in Lieu (TOIL) for up to 1 day per calendar month which tie in with our Values of Integrity, Transparency and Alignment. Ultra Maritime Sonar Systems offers a two-year graduate scheme. Our structured programmes give you the opportunity to design solutions and solve problems on our diverse range of projects and programmes. We will challenge and support you in equal measure to nurture your potential as an engineer. Starting in August 2026, during the scheme you will complete several placements around the business, designed to be flexible to support your career objectives and development. These placements will give you the chance to utilise and build your skills across the engineering disciplines as well as gain knowledge of the wider business, such as Project Management, Sales and Marketing, Commercial and Operations.

Some of the Support Considerations you will be interfacing with include:

  • Reliability & Maintainability - Reliability Prediction, RBDs, FTA s, FMEAs, MTAs; FRACAS/DRACAS, etc.;
  • Integrated Logistics Support - LCC, LORA, sparing, Technical Authoring, obsolescence, etc.;
  • Operational Analysis & Whole Life Cost Modelling - Business Case Analysis, etc.;
  • Training Development, Design and Delivery.

These activities also bolster your communication and presentation skills aiding your progression to Chartered Engineer status. You should be expecting at least a 2.1 level bachelor’s degree in an Engineering or STEM subject. Masters and PhD candidates equally welcome. Any previous work experience such as internships or work placements is likely to be a bonus. May be required to maintain security clearance.
