The Deputy Security Controller supports the Security Controller in meeting the HMG requirements of a designated official to exercise the day‑to‑day responsibility of all aspects of protective security for and FSC - Facility Security Clearance (i.e. physical, personnel, project and information). The Security Compliance function in Ultra is responsible for ensuring that the company's officers, directors, and employees comply with the provisions of the company's Government Security Policies and Special Security Agreement, where required. The role is based in Maidenhead with occasional additional responsibility for other sites in the I&C UK offices and requires infrequent travel.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Security Controller with the administration and management of the Guards, NPSA furniture, keys, locks, combination changes, logs, disposal of assets, AACS, CCTV, IDS, building and walls, area security, routines.
- Assist the Personnel Security Controller with final BPSS checks, approving access to areas, processing visitor requests and IVCO requests.
- Organise regular combination changes, document checks, mustering, training, booking in/out of assets, movement/transport plans, liaising with the authority.
- Log SALs and administer supply chain checks and contracts.
- Investigate breaches, electronic security issues, SAL, personnel, TCSM, CTSA liaison, training, asset loss, criminal activity, authority liaison, reporting & investigation.
- Ensure all access to sensitive assets is recorded and controlled, to meet the requirements of the "need-to-know" principle; use the Wiseman database to log new assets, destroy obsolete assets, and instigate musters and spot checks.
- Ensure employees remain compliant with the conditions of their security clearance obligations via the appropriate after‑care process.
- Represent the business at off‑site briefings, meetings and training sessions and disseminate information to the relevant audiences.
- Ensure security requirements are reflected in the company's processes, as appropriate.
- Perform any other duties as and when required.
- Manage security of information as defined in the Security manual.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Full driving licence and flexibility to travel within the UK.
- Ability and desire to obtain and maintain SC security clearance, preferably DV clearance.
- A working knowledge of Gov Stan 007 and security policy framework is desirable.
- Capability to interpret the requirements of the Security and Personnel Controllers.
- Understanding of the risks and subsequent impact to the business of failing to comply fully with appropriate guidelines, policy or legislation.
- British citizen (required to enable handling of "Eyes Only" material and to obtain SC or DV clearance).
- Experience with CCTV is beneficial.
- Good standard of verbal and written English expected; no specific educational qualifications are mandated.
- Applicants must be able to obtain the appropriate level of security clearance for the role.
- Due to the nature of our work, you must be a British Citizen who has been resident in the UK for the past 5 years (SC clearance) and 10 years (DV clearance).
