Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement an EH&S management system including risk assessments, safety tours, hazard identification, accident/near-miss/incident investigation and reporting.
  • Identify and implement metrics for assigned facilities.
  • Advise on maintenance and improvement of safe systems of work, influencing site leadership to achieve business certification aspirations (e.g., ISO 14001, ISO 45001).
  • Prepare and analyse monthly EH&S reports for site leadership, providing industry benchmark comparisons and KPI data.
  • Engage and motivate site leadership and employees through EH&S events, communications, safety walls, town-hall meetings, regular safety notices, and toolbox talks.
  • Manage the EH&S training programme, delivering on objectives, targets, and challenges progress of associated programme plans aligned to the business safety strategy.
  • Oversee compliance with EH&S regulatory requirements, liaise with relevant authorities, and provide expert advice to leadership.

Qualifications

  • Typically, a Bachelor Degree (or equivalent) in a related field and related experience in risk and hazard identification, analysis, audits, safety inspections, and accident investigation with people-leadership experience.
  • Preferred experience in implementing ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 certification.
  • May be required to maintain security clearance.

Security Clearance

This role requires SC Clearance. It would be advantageous if currently held; otherwise, the successful applicant must undergo, achieve, and maintain SC Clearance. Candidates must generally have resided in the UK for the last five years, with some circumstances allowing a minimum of three years’ residence over the last five years plus additional overseas checks.
