The Ultra PCS Engineering function manages a portfolio of specialist capabilities, generating highly differentiated solutions and products by applying electronic, mechanical, and software technologies in demanding and critical environments to meet customer needs. As a Systems Engineering Graduate, you will be working on a variety of projects supporting the capture, definition, analysis and management of requirements. You will engage with multiple engineering disciplines to pull together the wider system solution, culminating in designing novel test cases to ensure the product meets its requirements.

The Graduate Systems Engineer will get involved on projects for Critical Control systems for Civil and Military Aerospace, High / Low Power Distribution Power Control Systems, Military Land Vehicle electronics architectures and Stores Ejection systems. The Graduate Systems Engineer will gain knowledge, skills, and behaviours to perform; Requirements Capture, customer interaction, and carry out feasibility and technology studies. They will be directly involved in system design, system architecture, hardware & software design specifications, test plans and specifications.

They will learn to oversee and have hands-on product and system realisation, specifically hardware build and testing, software code and test, space models and functional prototypes leading into full production. They will become responsible for proving the product or system, specifically functional testing, qualification, and any regulatory accreditation. They will gain an awareness of other disciplines (Software, Mechanical, and Electronics), and they will be a team player and be able to integrate into a team working environment.

A Systems graduate will hold one of the following type degrees: Integrated Systems Engineering, Robotics, Mechatronics, Electronics Engineering, Control Engineering. If you hold a Computer Science or Mechanical Engineering degree, you should be able to show you have had equal exposure to other disciplines such as electronics. As part of our graduate programme, we can offer placements in multiple engineering disciplines so are open to applications from anyone who can demonstrate their aptitude and has an interest in one or more areas of engineering; Mechanical, Electronic, Software, Systems or Safety.

You will join a growing team in our modern Cheltenham or Cambridge offices, and with the support of highly qualified and experienced engineers from all disciplines be engaged in a series of programmes and activities.

Nationality Requirements: Candidates must be able to work in the UK without restrictions in accordance with UK National Law and be prepared to successfully undertake an appropriate level of UK National Security Vetting according to UK Government National Security Vetting criteria.
