Ultra PCS, part of Eaton, is looking for an Engineering Programme Manager. The Eaton Project and Programme function is responsible for providing the strategy for the planning and execution of all development and production programmes. The function controls programme costs, manages adherence to technical and schedule performance plans, manages the risks and opportunities, and directly interfaces with customers as required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Successful management and control of high value and complex projects and programmes, in a multi-disciplinary environment.
  • Experience within a product design & development business using the concept of Product Lifecycle Management.
  • Excellent knowledge of scheduling techniques to create WBS, OBS and PBS.
  • Competent in creating, maintaining and reporting project schedules using MS Project including integrated master schedules across multiple projects in a programme or portfolio.
  • Management of project resource demands to support the planned scope of work / schedule across multiple projects, a programme or portfolio.
  • Able to effectively define, manage and control work packages / assignments.
  • Successful subcontract management & generation of subcontract statements of work.
  • Conversant with the deployment of effective issue, risk & opportunity management strategies and techniques, including schedule and cost risk analysis.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems e.g. IFS.
  • Familiar with collating project data and supporting effective reporting to meet business governance requirements.
  • Ensure projects within the program align with overall business objectives.
  • Oversee the entire program and or critical phases, ensuring interconnected parts work together.
  • Focus on long-term strategic benefits rather than just project deliverables.
  • Manage program-level budgets and resources.
  • Provide strategic direction and leadership for multiple projects and their managers.
  • Ensure overall program success and smooth operations towards the organisation's goals.
  • Act as delegated authority for Programmes when requested.
  • Create, maintain and communicate project plans and technical documents that accurately reflect progress and planned activities for all internal and Customer deliverables.
  • Provide a monthly project report in the designated format which includes accurate cost information.
  • Ensure that project non-conformances are regularly reviewed and have a plan for closure in a timely manner.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Someone to have managed values of 5m+ (or representative high-level exposure).
  • Ideally with an APM Project Professional Qualification (PPQ) or in the process of.
  • Degree in related field or Engineering Degree in related field or Engineering or significant experience within the industry.
  • Successful candidate to demonstrate experience of executing similar projects.
  • Project Management experience of at least 5 years (for external candidates).
  • Demonstratable high level of stakeholder management skills.
  • Demonstrable experience of conflict and priority management.
  • Demonstrable experience of Project Finance, Commercial, Quality, Supply Chain and Trade Compliance.
  • Demonstrable experience of defining and delivering Programme and Business Critical Success Factors.
  • Demonstrable experience of coaching and mentoring.
  • Demonstrable experience of significant customer engagement.
  • Someone with a ‘Can Do’ attitude and represents Eaton PCS Values.
