Ultra Precision Control Systems are looking for a Release Inspector to perform final inspection on both product and documentation prior to release. The Release Inspector is responsible for performing final inspection activities to ensure aerospace components, assemblies, or products meet all regulatory, customer, and organisational quality requirements prior to release. This role ensures full compliance with airworthiness standards and acts as an authorised signatory for product certification documentation (e.g., EASA Form 1, FAA 8130‐3).

Key Responsibilities:
  • Inspection & Compliance
    • Conduct final inspections on components and assemblies to ensure conformity with engineering drawings, specifications, and customer requirements.
    • Verify that all production, repair, and test activities have been completed and documented correctly.
    • Ensure products comply with relevant regulatory standards (e.g., EASA Part 145, Part 21G, AS9100) and internal quality procedures.
    • Confirm traceability of materials, parts, and processes before release.
  • Certification & Release
    • Complete and sign airworthiness documents (e.g., Form 1 / Certificate of Conformity) as an authorised inspector.
    • Maintain accurate, compliant records for audit purposes.
    • Review work orders, inspection reports, and test data prior to product release.
  • Quality Assurance & Continuous Improvement
    • Identify and report non‐conformities; support root cause analysis and corrective action processes.
    • Escalate quality issues that may impact safety, performance, or compliance.
    • Participate in audits (internal, customer, regulatory) as required.
    • Promote continuous improvement within inspection processes and documentation systems.
  • Collaboration & Communication
    • Work closely with engineering, production, and quality teams to resolve technical or compliance issues.
    • Provide feedback to production teams to prevent recurring defects.
    • Communicate clearly with customers or regulatory bodies when required.
Required Skills & Experience:
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong integrity and commitment to safety and compliance.
  • Effective communication and teamwork.
  • Ability to work independently and make sound decisions.
  • Apprenticeship, NVQ Level 3, or equivalent qualification in aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering, or related field.
  • Experience in quality inspection within aerospace manufacturing or maintenance environment.
  • Previous authorisation for product release (desirable but not essential).
  • Experience within an AS9100 organisation preferable.
  • Knowledge of regulatory frameworks: EASA Part 145 / Part 21 / FAA Regulations.
