Role Summary
Reporting to the Director of Event Operations and with a regular communication channel to the Managing Director and the Director of Sport and Innovation, the Special Projects Manager will lead and report on the progress and performance of the Ultimate Sevens Championship (U7S) and its individual events as well as taking ownership of agreed Functional Areas critical to the success of the Championship. The successful candidate will be a dynamic yet methodical, multi-tasking, problem solver with a huge work ethic, a positive, energetic outlook who seeks smart solutions and demands world class standards.
Specific duties associated with the role:
- Identification, set up and communication to the Ultimate Sevens Team, of a consolidated Project Management plan. Achieving ‘buy in’ from and liaising with Functional Area leads to capture all Event related tasks along with associated timelines, ensuring that they are consistent with and best placed to achieve the Vision, Mission and Objectives of the Ultimate Sevens Championship.
- Creation of a complimentary Event Specific Project Management plan, shared with and accessible to Events Local Organising Committees to ensure that they deliver all contracted responsibilities on time and to world class standards.
- Regular reporting on progress, identifying risk where required and communicating effectively to ensure that the projects remain on track and to identify where strategic or operational decisions may require review/adjustment.
- Reviewing each Event with Functional Area leads and developing a template for clear, concise, post-event reports which identify the key recommendations which best serve to enhance the profile and overall success of the Championship in future years.
- Lead on a number of agreed Event Operations related Functional Areas including Hospitality, Sports Presentation, Media & Broadcast Operations.
- Supporting the acquisition and delivery of Event Operations related procurement.
- Providing general support to the Event Operations Team as required.

Skills and Experience
- Minimum 5 Years Project Management
- Minimum 5 Years in an operational management position
- Management of multiple cross functional tasks
- 3+ Years Event Management Experience
- Logistics Management – desirable
- Sports Event Management – desirable
- Fluent in English
- Other European Languages - desirable
