Key Responsibilities
- Machine Operation: Operate press brake machines to bend, shape, or cut sheet metal.
- Blueprint Interpretation: Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and job orders to understand product specifications.
- Machine Setup: Select and install the correct tooling (punches and dies) for the bending or cutting process and set the required tonnage (pressure).
- Programming: Program computer numerical control (CNC) press brakes to execute complex bends and shapes.
- Quality Control: Inspect finished metal parts to ensure they meet quality standards and precision requirements.
- Maintenance: Perform routine checks and maintenance on the press brake machinery.
- Safety: Operate machinery safely in a potentially noisy industrial environment, often wearing personal protective equipment (PPE).
