Are you a mortgage professional, seeking a new opportunity where you can utilise your underwriting skills, but also gain exposure to more specialist lending? Our client is a market leader in the mortgage space, offering a wide range of complex lending including residential, BTL, bridging and development finance loans.
In this role, you will manual underwrite and process new mortgages applications, progressing the case from application to offer. Duties will include:
- To ensure informed lending decisions are made by manually underwriting mortgage applications in line with approved level.
- To assess and approve new decision in principle enquiries in line with lending policy and underwriter’s guidance.
- To assess and make recommendations on cases that are outside of policy.
- To liaise with customers, intermediaries, valuers and solicitors during the processing of their mortgage through to completion ensuring good customer outcomes.
The successful individual will possess:
- Previous mortgage underwriting experience across residential and BTL.
This is a fantastic opportunity to really grow and develop your underwriting skills and would suit someone who has previous underwriting experience, looking to gain exposure in more complex lending, or even a Senior Mortgage Case Manager looking to make that progression into an Underwriting role.
The head office is based in Leicestershire and they can offer a hybrid approach to the working week with 2 days based at head office and the remainder working remotely (for the training period, more office presence would be required initially).
