Are you an experienced, manual mortgage underwriter, looking for the next step in your career? Do you always strive to ensure a first-class customer experience, and really want to lead and motivate a small team to do the same?
We are pleased to be working with a mortgage and savings provider, based in the heart of Penrith as they seek an experienced underwriter to join them. You will be team leading the Mortgage team, ensuring they provide exemplary service to customers, intermediaries and other stakeholders throughout the mortgage journey. You will be a mandate holder, not only leading and mentoring the team, but also having ownership of your own caseload.
Duties of the Lead Underwriter will include:
- Lead the team in meeting SLAs for mortgage application processing
- Underwrite applications up to the delegated mandate and provide recommendations to senior stakeholders where an application is outside of personal mandate
- Support and mentor across the department and wider business
Due to the nature of this role, they do require this individual to have previously held a mortgage mandate, within a residential lending environment. Whilst previous leadership skills are not essential, you will need to have a keen and enthusiastic interest to progress your career in this area. Our client can offer a hybrid approach to the working week, with a minimum of 2 days at their head office, but flexibility for further attendance for meetings etc.
