Our client, a well-established and highly respected building society, is looking for an experienced Business Development Manager to join their Intermediary Sales team.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong specialist mortgage market knowledge who is looking to move into a field-based Business Development Manager position.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and managing relationships with mortgage intermediaries across the Midlands, increasing broker engagement, driving mortgage applications and supporting brokers with complex lending enquiries, criteria and product solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a sales strategy to achieve mortgage application and completion targets across your territory.
  • Build, manage and strengthen relationships with existing mortgage brokers while identifying and onboarding new intermediary partners.
  • Act as the first point of contact for brokers, providing expert support on lending criteria, products and complex case enquiries.
  • Manage and maintain a healthy pipeline of business, ensuring strong conversion rates from application through to completion.
  • Deliver face-to-face and virtual meetings, presentations and training sessions to intermediary firms.
  • To be considered you must have
  • Recent, strong experience within the mortgage or intermediary lending market.
  • Experience either in a sales, advising, underwriting, broker support or relationship management capacity.
  • A strong understanding of mortgage products, lending criteria and the mortgage application journey.
  • Excellent relationship-building, communication and influencing skills.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to effectively manage your own diary and territory.
