Our client is a well-established and customer focussed, financial services provider offering mortgage and savings products to the market.

They are currently looking to recruit an experienced Mortgage Underwriter to join their growing mortgage department.

Their head office is based in East Riding, Yorkshire and they would like this individual to have weekly office presence, ideally with 3 days in the office and the remaining 2 working from home.

Duties will include

  • Dealing with enquiries from Mortgage Intermediaries, Solicitors and Customers.
  • Providing advice on a range of products, either over the phone or in the branch.
  • Completing and reviewing mortgage applications, examining supporting documentation and verifying accuracy.
  • Maintain accurate records and notes throughout all stages of the mortgage application.
  • Updating and maintaining spreadsheets.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, mortgage policies, procedures and guidelines.
  • Working closely with the team to contribute to the growth and strategy of the company.

Experience and qualifications required

  • Mortgage underwriting experience gained within FS
  • Ce MAP qualified (if partly qualified must be committed to completing the qualification)
  • Excellent communication and customer services skills.
  • Ability to independently manage multiple tasks.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Knowledge/experience of bridging and development finance is desirable

This is a full time, permanent position working Monday-Friday 9pm to 5pm, with on-site parking available.
