Our client is a local financial services business and this is an exciting opportunity to join a supportive and collaborative finance team in a busy and deadline-driven role. Reporting to the Financial Controller, the Management Accounts Assistant will support the day-to-day functions of the finance team, ensuring the smooth running of financial operations through the accurate processing of financial transactions, reconciliations, reporting support, and adherence to internal controls and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting the purchase ledger function, including accurate coding and posting of invoices, supplier query resolution, and weekly payment runs.
  • Processing CHAPS, BACS and Faster Payments transactions to strict daily deadlines.
  • Complete daily bank reconciliations.
  • Act as a key point of contact for finance-related queries via telephone, email, and internal communication channels.
  • Assist and make suggestions for process improvement using AI.

Qualifications

  • AAT qualification would be beneficial but not essential.
  • Experience in a similar role or in a deadline and regulatory driven, fast paced administrative role.
  • Strong numerical skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Very comfortable with spreadsheet work & data entry as an integral part of the accounts function.
