A well-established international advertising technology business is hiring a senior data partnerships leader to take ownership of an increasingly important part of its product and commercial strategy. This is not a traditional relationship-management position. The successful candidate will decide which data the business should acquire, build or access through partnerships and then negotiate, structure and operationalise those relationships.
The role sits at the intersection of data, product, technology, privacy and commercial strategy. You will work closely with senior leadership and teams across Product, Engineering and Legal, while leading a small specialist function operating across Europe.
The opportunity
- Define and deliver the company’s data sourcing and partnership strategy
- Identify new data providers and evaluate their quality, coverage and commercial value
- Negotiate licensing agreements and complex partnership terms
- Manage and develop an existing portfolio of international data partners
- Work with Legal on consent, licensing, GDPR and wider privacy requirements
- Partner with Product and Engineering on onboarding and integrating new data sources
- Help develop new products using both external and internally generated data
- Lead a small team while remaining personally involved in delivery
- Build the structure, processes and team required as the function grows
Your background
- Significant experience in data sourcing, data acquisition or strategic data partnerships
- A background in AdTech, MarTech, programmatic advertising or a related data business
- Strong commercial negotiation and contract-management experience
- A practical understanding of data licensing, privacy and compliance
- The ability to assess data quality, scale, coverage and financial viability
- Enough technical knowledge to work credibly with Product and Engineering teams
- Experience operating across multiple international markets
- A track record of building functions, processes or new commercial capabilities
This role will suit someone commercially sharp, technically credible and comfortable operating in an environment where the structure is still being built. You must be willing to remain hands-on. This is not a role for someone looking to manage a large team from a distance.
Location: London or Berlin, hybrid
Package: Competitive senior-level package, dependent on experience
