Contract Type: Permanent (Full-Time)

Shift patterns: Monday–Friday rotating shifts 6am-2pm, 7am-3pm, 1pm-9pm.

Location: Dunelm Distribution Centre, Stoke On Trent ST4 4EX

We're now looking for a Transport Planner, you will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and optimising transport operations to ensure efficient, cost‑effective, and compliant delivery of services. As a Transport Planner, you'll play a vital role in ensuring goods are delivered efficiently, safely, and on time. A TYPICAL DAY MAY INVOLVE:

  • Planning and coordinating for 184 stores daily transport schedules to meet operational and customer requirements
  • Communicating with drivers, warehouse teams, and customers to manage changes, delays, or issues
  • Optimising routes, loads, and vehicle utilisation to improve efficiency and reduce costs
  • Allocating vehicle and trailer resource to plan and allocate driver resources to the plan

THIS ROLE WOULD SUIT PEOPLE WHO:

  • Enjoy working in a fast‑paced, operational environment and can prioritise effectively
  • Communicate confidently with a range of stakeholders and work well as part of a team
  • Have a strong attention to detail and previous transport experience
  • Have good geographical knowledge and experience with backhaul
  • Have experience with Paragon and also good knowledge of driver hours.
