Coordinating a small shunting team at a busy customer site, ensuring trailers are safely prepared, loaded and presented for dispatch while acting as the key link between operations, drivers and the customer.
A TYPICAL DAY MAY INVOLVE:
- Coordinating a small team in a busy distribution yard, ensuring trailers are correctly loaded, secured, checked and ready for departure.
- Completing trunking deliveries from the brewery to RDCs and other locations, while supporting on-site shunting and trailer positioning activities.
- Liaising with transport operations, shift managers and customers regarding trailer movements, priorities and service requirements.
- Opening and closing trailer curtains throughout the shift and carrying out other hands-on duties across the site.
- Maintaining health, safety and compliance standards while delivering excellent customer service and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.
THIS ROLE WOULD SUIT PEOPLE WHO:
- Hold a valid Category C+E / Class 1 Driving Licence, CPC and Digital Tachograph Card.
- Enjoy leading others and taking responsibility for team performance.
- Are proactive, customer-focused and confident communicating with customers and operational teams.
- Have a good level of physical fitness and are comfortable carrying out manual duties, including opening and closing trailer curtains.
- Take pride in working safely, following processes and driving continuous improvement.
