The Ultimate Performance Instructor is responsible for the successful delivery of our Ultimate Performance programme, whilst ensuring the welfare and safety of the children on camp is maintained at all times. We are looking for enthusiastic and experienced Performing Arts teachers or professionals with qualifications (Drama school/University degree) to help us follow through on our commitment to 'Inspire Children Every Day'. Following scripts, choreography and music, the role of the Ultimate Performance Instructor is to deliver outstanding performing arts to small groups of 7 to 12 year-olds, through a melody of musicals, showcasing their talents! You will be responsible for motivating and delivering fun and exciting group musical theatre workshops to inspire the next generation. You will be expected to guide groups of children through a timetabled course with an emphasis on fun, excitement, teamwork, and skill development. You will have a pastoral role, being a group leader and ensuring their welfare.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Deliver excellent, energetic coaching sessions where all children can develop their skills, be challenged and have fun.
  • Live up to the Ultimate Activity Company’s promise of ‘Inspiring Children Every Day’ and behave in a manner that reflects the expectations of the company throughout your employment.
  • Show high levels of energy, enthusiasm and professionalism, acting as a suitable role model for the children.
  • Continuously promote the welfare of the children in your care.
  • Supervise and engage with the children outside of session times.
  • Analyse performance and suggest areas of improvement.
  • Communicate effectively with children.
  • Demonstrate the ability to develop and progress sessions for varying ages and abilities.
  • Provide challenging content in a safe learning environment.

About You

Essential Requirements

  • Qualified, or working towards relevant qualifications, in Performing Arts or Musical Theatre.
  • An enthusiastic, energetic individual, who has experience working with children.
  • Passionate about helping young people develop their performance skills, able to tailor delivery and structure according to age and ability, adapting on the day.
  • Excellent communicator, with strong face-to-face customer service skills. Candidates must be confident in their ability to talk to parents and host school staff.
  • Someone with a love for the arts, looking for a hugely rewarding and fun job in the holidays, looking to further their career in teaching or childcare.

Desirable Requirements

  • Experience or professional qualifications (Drama school/University degree) in Performing arts/Musical Theatre.
  • Hold a Paediatric First Aid (6 hour or 12 hour) qualification or be willing to gain one through the Ultimate Activity Company.
