Position Summary

The role of an Activity Instructor is to ensure the welfare and safety of the children on camp and to deliver outstanding, structured activities. Using supporting resources, you will be expected to deliver a range of structured activities including sports, arts and crafts, and games catered to the ages of 6-14 years with an emphasis on participation, care and development. In return, we provide training and support for all individuals and the opportunity to develop skills and knowledge of working in a childcare setting. As well as leading sessions, staff contribute to the high standard of physical, emotional and social care offered by Ultimate Activity Camps. Our Activity Instructors have a pastoral role as the leader of a group of children on camp, with the focus being on maintaining welfare and providing high quality care.

Details

  • Contract: Seasonal holiday work available, opportunities in Easter, Summer and Half Term holidays.
  • Hours: 8:30 am – 5:30 pm weekdays. Full time or part time roles available and additional hours available for staff that hold a paediatric first aid qualification (usually 8 am – 6 pm).

Responsibilities

  • Deliver structured activities (sports, arts and crafts, games) for children aged 6‑14.
  • Ensure the welfare and safety of all children on camp.
  • Maintain a high standard of physical, emotional and social care for the group.
  • Serve as the pastoral leader for your assigned group of children.
  • Support the overall quality of care and uphold camp policies and procedures.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Relevant experience in childcare, education or a similar role preferred but not mandatory.
  • Holding a paediatric first aid qualification is required to work additional hours; training will be provided where necessary.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Enthusiasm for working with children and a passion for teaching and learning.
