Technical Analyst (Fixed-Term, Full Time – 2 Days Onsite in Felixstowe)
Contract: 6-Month Fixed-Term (with potential to extend)
Ultima is looking for a Technical Analyst to join our team on a full-time basis to support IT operations onsite in Felixstowe. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in hands-on environments, enjoys technical problem-solving, and is looking for a flexible opportunity to contribute to business-critical IT functions.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Providing expert support across the full IT support lifecycle, from setup to troubleshooting.
- Managing Windows Server and desktop environments including Active Directory, Group Policy, and PowerShell.
- Supporting Linux systems (Oracle Linux, CentOS, Red Hat) using CLI and shell scripting.
- Authorising and monitoring access to IT systems and ensuring security compliance.
- Administering databases and managing enterprise storage (SAN, NAS, backup, etc.).
- Conducting proactive and reactive network maintenance and user support.
- Supporting software patching, vulnerability management, and configuration processes.
- Contributing to Ultima and HPUK’s sustainability goals and operational standards.
What We’re Looking For
Degree-level education or equivalent in IT (or related field)
Proven experience in IT support, technical consultancy, or systems operations
Strong command of Windows and Linux environments
Proficiency in scripting (PowerShell, shell) and infrastructure management
Hands-on experience with storage, database, and network support
Analytical thinker with good written and numerical communication skills
Awareness of compliance, security, and system lifecycle best practices
2 days onsite per week in Felixstowe
Full-time role with immediate start available
