We’re looking for a highly experienced Technical Services Manager with deep Azure cloud expertise to lead and inspire our Infrastructure Team while acting as a trusted technical advisor for our customer. This role is ideal for someone passionate about cloud-first strategy, Azure migration, managed cloud services, and continuous service improvement within a modern managed services environment. This position plays a critical role in helping our customer transition, optimise, and operate Azure-based platforms, ensuring stability, security, and long-term value from cloud investments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership and governance for the 2nd/3rd Line Infrastructure & Cloud Team, ensuring strong performance, capability development, and engagement.
  • Own and drive Azure cloud services, including IaaS, PaaS, and hybrid environments, within a managed services framework.
  • Lead and support Azure migration initiatives, including assessment, planning, execution, and post-migration optimisation.
  • Drive service improvement through cloud optimisation, cost management (FinOps), automation, and modernisation initiatives.
  • Ensure all infrastructure and Azure cloud services are secure, resilient, compliant, and aligned to customer strategy.
  • Build strong relationships with the customer’s IT leadership, acting as their trusted advisor on Azure cloud strategy, roadmaps, and future-state architecture.
  • Oversee SLA/OLA performance for infrastructure and Azure managed services, ensuring KPIs and contractual commitments are met.
  • Support and mentor team members, fostering deep Azure capability, technical excellence, and career growth.
  • Ensure compliance with policies, regulatory requirements, and ISO standards (ISO 27001, ISO 9001).
  • Collaborate with Service Delivery, Transition, and Technical Account Management to ensure smooth onboarding of cloud services and migrations into BAU support.
  • Produce service performance reports and lead technical and cloud service reviews with the customer.
  • Own the technical and cloud relationship with the customer for Infrastructure and Azure Managed Services.
  • Shape cloud roadmaps, transformation programmes, and future-state designs aligned to business outcomes.
  • Participate in Change Approval Boards (CAB), risk assessments, and cloud governance forums.
  • Oversee proactive monitoring, patching, capacity management, backup, DR, and vulnerability remediation across Azure and hybrid environments.
  • Represent our managed service business with professionalism, clearly demonstrating ongoing cloud value, optimisation, and innovation.
  • Contribute to the design of new Azure managed services offerings and advise customers on adoption opportunities.

Requirements:

  • Proven leadership experience within an Infrastructure, Cloud, or Technical Services environment.
  • Azure networking, security, and identity.
  • Hybrid and multi-cloud environments.
  • Azure managed services and operational best practices.
  • Experience acting as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders on cloud strategy and transformation.
  • Passionate about cloud modernisation, service improvement, automation, and cost optimisation.
