THE ROLE
Ulster University is committed to advancing its digital transformation agenda and adopting a digital-first approach across all business processes aligning with the University’s People, Place and Partnerships Strategy (2023) and the Digital Services Directorate’s Operating Plan. As the Lead Business Analyst within the Digital Business Transformation team, you will take a leading role in business analysis and requirements management across digital transformation initiatives at the University. Your expertise in requirements elicitation, business process modelling, and re-engineering will be instrumental in identifying innovative solutions to drive operational efficiencies and support strategic goals. You will work closely with business owners to support the development of robust business cases, ensuring that digital projects deliver sustainable and measurable benefits. Collaborating with the Digital Business Transformation Manager, you will leverage your experience and analysis skills in support of other Business Analysts in the team. You will have strong skills for developing Business Analysis initiatives and forming a long-term and in-depth understanding of the challenges and opportunities needed to support and develop business analysis services. By leading business analysis support for major digital transformation projects, you will directly contribute to achieving the University’s strategic and operational goals. As Lead Business Analyst, you will be a role model who utilises your adaptable skillset and embodies the values of commitment, focus, openness, respect, and courage. The Digital Business Transformation team operates within the Digital Programme & Innovation Office (DPIO), which is part of the wider Digital Services Directorate.
ABOUT YOU
- Hold a degree or postgraduate qualification or can demonstrate appropriate level and range of professional experience.
- Experience of leading requirements capture, process modelling and re-engineering using business analysis methodologies, tools, and techniques.
- Experience of complex problem analysis, evaluation of outcomes and leading changes that delivered measurable improvements in business value.
- Expertise in building and maintaining effective relationships with key stakeholders, managing expectations and ensuring alignment between business needs and project objectives.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and lead initiatives to promote and enhance the value of business analysis services across the organisation.
- Willingness to travel between campuses to meet the needs of the role.
