The Role

The responsibilities of the Employee Wellbeing Advisor fall into four broad areas:

  • To provide advice and guidance for employees and line managers, and act as the key contact for both the proactive and reactive management of absence.
  • To undertake activity to identify trends in absence and to both personally deliver individual interventions and work with colleagues to design and introduce interventions to address identified trends.
  • To work closely with People and Culture Partners, and colleagues in the wider University community as may be required to fulfil the role of providing absence management advice and support.
  • To contribute to the delivery of the wider People and Culture strategy by working closely with colleagues in the other section of the People and Culture Directorate.

About You

The Postholder Will Be Required To Be

  • A Degree or a relevant professional qualification, or an NVQ4 or A Levels with a commitment to enrol on and complete a relevant professional qualification.
  • Practical generalist experience as an Advisor / Officer in a professional HR, or Wellbeing role in a large complex organisation.
  • Sound knowledge and understanding of best practice and current trends in sickness and absence management, resulting in pragmatic solutions and advice for line managers and other colleagues. Including requirements within the wider Section 75 and DDA legislative framework.
