The role
The post holder will assist the ResLife Coordinator on site out of hours and will be based in a student residential complex, supported by the University's security team. The post holder will be a point of contact for students, guests, visitors, and conference delegates and will assist in the delivery of a wide range of services: emergency response to incidents, advice and assistance at reception, fire safety, health and safety, first aid, security, and customer services. The overall direction of the post will be determined by the ResLife Manager and ResLife Coordinator to ensure the effective management of the residential environment. The RLNA will be required to provide a nighttime service. To ensure service availability at peak periods, two thirds of annual leave entitlement must be taken during the summer vacation period. This position follows a rotational shift pattern of four consecutive night shifts, followed by four nights off. The appointee will be required to undertake and receive a satisfactory Access NI check prior to taking up employment. (The Protection of Children and Vulnerable Adults (NI) Order 2003.) The post holder will receive an additional night shift allowance.
About you
- A good standard of numeracy and literacy as demonstrated by qualifications at GCSE grade βCβ or higher (or equivalent) or by relevant work experience.
- Relevant experience in one or more of the following areas: youth development, community safety, crime prevention, personal safety, or experience working in a residential environment with young people.
- Experience of organising time effectively and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Willingness to work non-standard hours as required by the needs of the post.
