Job Title: Assistive Technology Coordinator School/Department: Student Wellbeing Salary: £32,314 – £38,019 Closing Date: 30 January 2025 Reference Number: 033044 Campus: Belfast Full-time/permanent – ABOUT US – We are a university with a national and international reputation for excellence, innovation and regional engagement, making a major contribution to the economic, social and cultural development of Northern Ireland Our core business activities are teaching and learning, widening access to education, research and innovation and technology and knowledge transfer. – THE ROLE – The post holder will be responsible for providing expert training and support to students with a range of disabilities and additional study needs in the use of assistive technology to enhance their learning. They will keep up to date with the latest developments in disability assistive technology equipment and software, ensuring that best practice recommendations made through the DSA Needs Assessment Centre will have a positive impact on the experience of our students. The post holder will be also responsible for the management of Student Wellbeing loan software licenses and assistive technology equipment, ensuring this is tracked and returned. – ABOUT YOU – – Educated to degree level with substantial demonstrable training in assistive technology – Expert IT skills using both PCs and Macs with excellent knowledge of major operating systems and assistive technologies (computer software and hardware). – Experience of delivering training to a range of participants, including those with additional study needs on a 1:1, small group tutorial and workshop basis.
