Ulster Carpets is a respected family-owned bespoke carpet manufacturer, established in 1938. The company is recognised globally for unrivalled design capability and customer service, producing premium woven carpets for customers around the world from our manufacturing site in Portadown. With significant investment in our plant and facilities and a strong strategic operational plan, we have an opportunity for a Production Group Leader to join our manufacturing team on a 3-shift rotation 5 days per week.
Your role will be to drive operational effectiveness through the optimal use of shift manpower, machinery, material and methods with commitment to quality, efficiency, capacity and customer service focusing on reliable metrics and KPIs to achieve continuous improvements.
Candidates should be able to demonstrate the following:
- ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:
- 2+ years experience at supervisory/team lead/senior operative preferably within product manufacturing
- Organisation and Time Management: Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- IT Skills: Proficiency in using ERP and CRM software and other business applications.
- Technical Skills: Knowledge of manufacturing processes, quality control, and production planning with the ability to grasp technical concepts and techniques associated with carpet manufacturing.
- Leadership Skills: Ability to lead a team and motivate your shift.
- Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills to communicate effectively with various stakeholders.
- Problem-solving Skills: Ability to identify and resolve production issues efficiently.
- Results Driven: Ability to drive shift efficiencies and meet department KPIs.
