We have a vacancy for a Multi-skilled Maintenance Engineer to provide maintenance, repair, and installation services across both mechanical and basic electrical systems, ensuring the safe and efficient operation of plant, machinery, and equipment on site. The role has a strong mechanical bias while supporting electrical tasks within competency.
Required Skills and Experience:- Proven experience as a mechanical fitter with exposure to electrical systems
- Good understanding of basic electrical principles and safe isolation practices
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical drawings and schematics
- Strong fault-finding and problem-solving abilities
- Good knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations
- Basic electrical qualifications (e.g. 17th/18th Edition or equivalent) or willingness to work towards
- Experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, and welding
- Experience of working in a manufacturing or process environment
- Experience in working with industrial steam boilers.
- Level 3 qualification in primary related trade with a minimum of 3 years experience (e.g., NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds), or equivalent qualification
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on mechanical and electrical systems and equipment.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical faults and support basic electrical fault-finding and repairs.
- Assemble, install, test, and maintain mechanical systems, plant, and equipment.
- Assist with electrical work such as motor changes, sensors, and basic wiring where required.
- Support breakdown response and emergency repairs to minimise downtime.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, manuals, and technical documentation.
- Work collaboratively with engineering, production, and external contractors as needed.
- Adhere to all health, safety, and environmental procedures and ensure safe working practices at all times.
- Accurately complete maintenance records, work reports, and documentation, logging information electronically.
