Ulla Johnson is seeking a Boutique Director for our Sloane Street location in London. The Boutique Director is responsible for all aspects of managing a store including managing a sales and inventory team, overseeing store operations to achieve sales goals, customer satisfaction, and developing business strategies. This role will report to the Retail Director and work closely with the corporate team, located in NYC, to ensure the store is operating properly. Duties will also include following brand guidelines, company policies, and making sure that the right product is in the store. The Boutique Director is also responsible for budget including store payroll and overall expenses.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Customer Service
- Deliver excellent service to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction
- Promote employee selling and merchandising skill by demonstrating and leading by example
- Build and maintain an effective client list
- Drive business through reacting to customers’ needs and wants
- General Responsibilities
- Maintain a professional appearance in the store and phone presence when communicating with clients
- Create business strategies to attract new customers, expand store traffic, retain existing customers, and enhance profitability
- Handle in-store deliveries, transfers, returns, damages, etc.
- Support execution of all visual merchandising updates and standards
- Provide product knowledge on new arrivals to the retail team
- Handle in-store markdowns and promotions
- Be responsible for weekly bank deposits and oversee petty cash log/deposit log
- Keep team informed of store goals and overall store performance
- Leadership
- Act as a mentor and leader to retail team while developing individual strengths and identifying opportunities
- Conduct annual reviews
- Maintain strong leadership, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
- Delegate responsibility and work to the team members
- Train new sales team members and hold the sales team accountable to Ulla Johnson standards
- Interface with all levels of management and associates in a manner that promotes learning and respect
REQUIREMENTS:
- 5+ years of progressive leadership in luxury retail, demonstrating the ability to manage high-performing teams and drive business growth in flagship environments
- Deep understanding of the luxury fashion industry, with a proven track record of delivering exceptional customer experiences and maintaining brand integrity
- A strategic thinker who proactively identifies opportunities for innovation and improvement, balancing creative vision with commercial acumen
- Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities, capable of articulating brand narratives and fostering strong relationships with clients, team members, and stakeholders
- Demonstrated proficiency in building and nurturing long-term client relationships, utilising available tools to personalise the shopping experience and drive customer loyalty
- Strong ability to mentor and develop diverse teams, creating a culture of continuous learning and high performance
- Expertise in managing store operations, including budgeting, inventory control, and visual merchandising, ensuring alignment with brand standards and financial objectives
