Our consumer, medical & IT technologies team is seeking an Engineer-at either Associate Project Engineer or Project Engineer level-with strong customer‑facing and technical communication skills to support our UK AV (Audio Video) & ITE (IT Equipment) business and guide clients through the compliance process, with a focus on IEC/EN/UL 62368‑1 safety evaluations. Responsibilities
- Act as a technical liaison between customers and UL Solutions, providing clear explanations of requirements, findings, and next steps throughout the product evaluation process.
- Support customer engagement activities, including technical discussions, scoping meetings, proposal support, and explaining the benefits and pathways of UL services.
- Review product documentation and determine project requirements aligned with IEC/EN/UL 62368‑1, offering guidance on compliance, gaps, and improvement opportunities.
- Communicate test outcomes and technical issues, ensuring customers understand relevant safety requirements and how to achieve compliance.
- Collaborate with sales and engineering teams to clarify technical details and contribute to customer proposals.
- Demonstrate adaptability by supporting additional safety standards as needed and contributing to continuous improvement.
- Help identify opportunities for new services or enhancements within the AV/IT market.
- Represent UL Solutions professionally in meetings, both internally and externally, contributing to a strong customer experience.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant subject is preferred.
- 1–3 years’ experience in the testing and certification industry, specifically supporting AV & ITE customers through compliance hurdles.
- Solid technical understanding of IEC/EN/UL 62368‑1 and its application to AV/ITE products.
- Experience communicating technical information clearly to customers, whether written or verbal.
- Ability to assess complex product designs, identify non‑compliances, and explain solutions effectively.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple customer interactions and priorities.
- A collaborative mindset, with comfort working across engineering, sales and project management functions.
- Curiosity and adaptability to learn related safety standards and broaden your technical scope.
