UL Solutions Renewables is seeking a candidate to work within the Offshore Wind Advisory Project Management team. The selected candidate will support UL’s offshore wind team in providing the following services to clients:
- Advisory services including lenders due diligence, buy and sell-side due diligence, owners engineering, and market studies.
- Management of complex technical due diligence and market intelligence assignments for high-profile clients, covering the full project lifecycle from pre-feasibility to construction and operational monitoring.
Responsibilities
- Work with customers as the main client interface for UL Solutions, leading client meetings with lenders, investors, developers, and insurance advisors as needed.
- Project manage complex owners engineering, independent engineering, technical advisory, and market intelligence services supporting offshore plant development, construction, financing, sale, or acquisition.
- Oversee key activities such as technology review, civil and electrical design review, contracts review, project scheduling, business case assessment (Devex, Capex, Opex, Abex), and environmental and permitting review, including site visits and operational monitoring.
- Compile and produce independent engineering and technical advisory reports, along with communication and project status reports.
- Prepare proposals with scope, team, budget, and schedule to meet client expectations.
- Manage internal and external resources to ensure timely, targeted, and budget-compliant project deliverables.
- Facilitate regular project meetings with stakeholders, identify risks, and propose mitigation strategies.
- Apply industry best practices and lessons learned from previous projects.
- Proactively identify project needs and implement solutions.
- Support business development activities to grow UL's offshore wind sector, including client outreach and representing UL at conferences.
Qualifications
- Academic background in Project Management, Electrical, Civil, Mechanical Engineering, Energy Services, or Planning and Consents.
- At least 5+ years of experience as a project manager/engineer in the wind industry.
- Deep understanding of technical due diligence and risk assessment processes.
- Experience across the full project lifecycle of wind developments.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, motivation, and ability to meet tight deadlines.
- Leadership interest in business development is advantageous.
Workplace: UK or Northern Europe, with remote work considered. Comfortable working with global teams across time zones. Proficiency in English; additional languages (French, Spanish) are a plus. Willingness to travel up to 20% within the EMEA region.
