UL Solutions Renewables is seeking a candidate to work within the Offshore Wind Advisory Project Management team. The selected candidate will support UL's offshore wind team in providing advisory services including but not limited to lenders due diligence, buy and sell-side due diligence, owners engineering and market studies. This will include the management of complex technical due diligence and market intelligence assignments for high profile clients covering the full project lifecycle from pre-feasibility to construction and operational monitoring.

Responsibilities

  • Work with customers acting as the main client interface for UL Solutions.
  • Lead client meetings with lenders, investors, developers and insurance advisors as needed.
  • Project manage complex owners engineering, independent engineering, technical advisory, and market intelligence services to support the development, construction, financing, sale, or acquisition of offshore plants and/or hybrid portfolios.
  • Manage high-profile owners engineering, lenders technical advisory and technical due diligence projects, overseeing key activities such as:
  • Technology review
  • Civil and electrical design review
  • Commercial and technical contracts review
  • Project schedule
  • Business case assessment including Devex, Capex, Opex and Abex
  • Environmental and permitting review
  • Site visits, construction and operational monitoring
  • Compile and complete independent engineering and technical advisory reports as well as prepare various communication reports and project status reports.
  • Prepare proposals detailing a scope of work, team, budget and schedule for completion to satisfy client expectations.
  • Manage and schedule internal resources as well as internal and external individuals to ensure project deliverables are provided on time, on target, and on budget.
  • Prepare project reports and deliverables. Facilitate and lead regular status meetings with internal project team, sponsors, and key stakeholders.
  • Work with a multi-disciplinary team to identify project risks, barriers, and issues and propose possible solutions and mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure the use of best industry practices and apply lessons learned from previous projects.
  • Proactively identify the needs for each project and propose/implement fit-for-purpose solutions.
  • Support the company's growth strategy in offshore wind through business development activities. Provide business development support as required by UL and identify potential new clients.
  • Represent the company at conferences and seminars in order to establish business development leads and promote the company.
  • Qualifications

    • Academic background in Project Management, Electrical, Civil or Mechanical Engineering, Energy Services or Planning and Consents.
    • At least 5+ years' experience working as a project manager/engineer in the wind industry.
    • Clear and deep understanding about the typical steps of a technical due diligence process and risk assessment.
    • Experienced in the full project lifecycle for typical wind developments from pre-feasibility through to construction and operational monitoring.
    • Highly motivated with excellent interpersonal skills and level-headed when meeting tight deadlines.
    • A strong willingness to take leadership with business development in addition to technical responsibilities will be looked upon favourably.

    Work Place: UK or Northern Europe but remote working can be considered. Candidate shall be comfortable working with global teams which are located in different time zones. Working proficiency in English, French or Spanish; additional languages are considered an advantage. You may be available to travel up to 20% of the time within EMEA region.
