Description
Our recently upgraded SAR Laboratories in Basingstoke are where we test the latest consumer wireless electronic tech for the rate at which energy is absorbed by the human body when exposed to a radio frequency electromagnetic field.
We are now hiring for a
Laboratory Technician to join the team, where you’ll get the opportunity to perform hands-on testing, write reports for customers and help the team maintain accreditation standards.
This role is based at our customer site, the Slough SAR Lab.

Responsibilities
- Setting up and preparing laboratory equipment for testing.
- Performing SAR testing on a variety of wireless products.
- Reviewing test plans and supporting test execution.
- Analyzing results and assisting with technical reporting.
- Maintaining laboratory accreditation, equipment, and documentation.
- Keeping project records up to date and ensuring timely delivery of customer projects.
Qualifications
- HNC or a Degree in a relevant subject, e. g. Engineering.
- 6 months - 1 year of hands-on testing experience, either with SAR or an equivalent such as RF (Radio) EMC or other Cellular testing.
- Knowledge of some of the following SAR test standards: EN 50360, EN 62311, EN 50566, EN 62209-1/-2/-1528, EN 50383/50385, FCC SAR KDB’s publication, IEEE1528, RSS 102.
- Excellent communication skills, both within the organisation and potentially with customers.
- Hard-working attitude and a flexible outlook.
- Able to work well within a close-knit team, but also happy working independently.

The salary range for this position is based on multiple factors, including job-related knowledge/skills, experience, geographical location, and other factors.
This position is eligible for an annual bonus with a target payout of 5% of base salary.
