Not-for-profit organisation Groundwork South have an exciting opportunity to care for Iver Environment Centre – near Uxbridge and Slough.

Summary of role

Could you be the person to look after Iver Environment Centre? On our stunning 2.5-acre site you can find ponds, meadow and trees, a myriad of protected species including newts, grass snakes and badgers, breathtaking allotments, a habitats themed play area and some inspiring teaching spaces.

Job Purpose

We are looking for a well organised person to ensure our site is the best it can be. You will keep it safe through regular checks (training provided) and co-ordinate contractors for maintenance and capital works. You will enjoy working with our volunteers on gardening tasks and not be afraid to tackle surprises such as a leaky pipe. Understanding of grant funding and the need to complete projects by a fixed deadline will be helpful. The Project Officer will be someone who takes pride in places and equipment. Someone who cannot walk past a problem without addressing it. You should be a good communicator with excellent time management skills and an interest in the natural world. You must be a friendly person committed to equal access as well as being comfortable working with computers to manage calendars and process invoices.
