We are looking to recruit a Café Assistant to provide a welcoming front of house service, excellent customer service and quality food and beverages. Join our friendly team at the Walled Garden Café, a busy community café nestled in the picturesque surroundings of Tilgate Park, Crawley.

Job Purpose

As a Café Assistant you will provide a welcoming front of house service, providing excellent customer service and quality food and beverages to our local community and visitors.

Key Duties include:

  • Greet customers warmly and provide friendly, efficient service
  • Take customer orders accurately and process payments
  • Prepare and serve hot drinks
  • Operate coffee machines, and other café equipment safely
  • Maintain cleanliness of service areas, tables, and workstations
  • Follow food safety, hygiene, and health & safety standards at all times
  • Restock supplies
  • Handle customer enquiries and resolve issues professionally
  • Work collaboratively with team members during busy periods
  • Open and close the café according to procedures (if required)

This role is zero hours and ideal for someone available during school holidays and weekends. Full training will be given but experience in food preparation, customer service and barista work is preferred.
