As a working Team member, you assist and are involved in the delivery of landscaping, grounds maintenance, groundwork, and fencing tasks, with a particular focus on work at properties managed by social housing providers in Greater Manchester. These currently include Southway Homes, Great Places, and Rochdale Boroughwide Housing, though this list is not exhaustive.

Job Purpose

  • Delivery
    • Be an essential part of the delivery of small projects undertaking landscaping, grounds maintenance, groundwork and fencing tasks, with guidance and support from Team Supervisor, Land Manager and Contract Manager.
    • Ensuring compliance with all health and safety, environmental, reporting and quality management procedures.
    • Maintain positive relationships and provide effective communication with any tenants, customers or other members of the public affected by works on site.
    • Ability to adapt and work flexibly across a wide range of internal teams.
  • Business & Service Development
    • Manage good working relationships with clients’ representatives.
    • Develop and nurture partnerships and relationships at a delivery level especially in relation to landscape construction and maintenance.
    • Identifying new opportunities for service area.
  • Financial & Resource Management
    • Provide support with effective stock management.
    • Responsible for routine maintenance of your vehicle, tools and equipment, completing all relevant log sheets.
  • People Management & Development
    • Pro-actively support new members of staff/volunteers with basic tasks, systems and trust familiarisation.
    • Embeds culture and values to whole team through positive behaviours; providing supportive challenge to others.
    • Actively shares knowledge and learning with peers and wider team.
  • Internal Management
    • Embeds policy and procedure within delivery of all projects, with a particular focus on health and safety and environmental systems and procedures.
    • Identifies opportunities for improvement within project delivery, as well as wider Trust activities.
    • Continuously builds knowledge and awareness of emerging trends in industry.
