What you’ll do:
- Review drawings and specifications to prepare accurate estimates for contract bids, ensuring all plans and documentation are thoroughly analysed.
- Serve as the primary contact for suppliers, sub-contractors, estimators, designers, engineers, and architects to gather all necessary information for comprehensive bid submissions.
- Assess designs for alternative materials and prepare estimates in line with contractor guidelines.
- Calculate and compile take-off data efficiently to meet bid deadlines.
- Adapt to varying workloads and priorities, demonstrating flexibility and strong attention to detail.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of company, client, supplier, and employee information.
- Apply strong analytical and observational skills to guide decision-making and bid strategy.
- Utilise computer software including On-Screen Take-off, pricing tools, Word, Excel, and Outlook to streamline the estimating process.
What we’re looking for:
- Experienced Estimators within the Landscape Construction industry; groundworks or drainage sector experience—particularly sustainable urban drainage—would be highly advantageous.
- Strong commercial background in bid and tender management across both hard and soft landscaping.
- Excellent analytical, writing, and presentation skills, with the ability to independently shape well-structured solutions.
- Strong commercial acumen, with a good working understanding of frameworks, contracts, and risk management.
- Proven experience in understanding and developing service solutions efficiently.
- A track record of success in winning and retaining accounts within the service industry.
- Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to build effective working relationships.
- A hands-on approach, actively involved in the work without needing to delegate.
