What you'll do:
At Ground Control Geotechnical Solutions (GCES), we deliver innovative, sustainable, and high-quality geotechnical solutions that support major infrastructure projects. We're looking for an experienced Lead Cable Percussion Drilling Operative to lead safe, efficient, and high-quality CP drilling operations on site.
- Operate and maintain Cable Percussion (CP) drilling rigs
- Lead and supervise on-site CP drilling teams
- Prepare sites, set up plant and equipment, and carry out drilling works
- Complete open-hole drilling, core drilling, and rock coring
- Ensure accurate sampling, logging, and daily records
- Act as the on-site representative, providing progress updates to management
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver CP drilling works safely, on time, and to specification
- Allocate daily tasks and mentor less experienced operatives
- Ensure compliance with HSE, CDM, and RAMS requirements
- Lead toolbox talks and site safety briefings
- Carry out equipment checks, routine maintenance, and defect reporting
- Maintain high standards of quality, professionalism, and client satisfaction
What we're looking for:
Essential
- Proven experience in Cable Percussion (CP) drilling and ground investigations
- Strong knowledge of open-hole, core, and rock coring techniques
- Experience supervising site teams
- Good understanding of HSE regulations and site safety requirements
- Experience working on infrastructure, utilities, or construction projects
