We are seeking an experienced Electrical Estimator with a strong background in both the electric vehicle charging and solar PV markets. This key role will support the continued growth of GC Energy Solutions by developing accurate and commercially competitive estimates and proposals for our clients.
Responsibilities include:
- Working closely with surveyors and project managers to collect site data.
- Collaborating with the design team and producing detailed proposals.
- Attending the London office weekly and visiting project sites across the UK.
- Contributing to the strategic direction of estimating and proposals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Gather and verify site-specific information with field teams.
- Prepare cost estimates and client proposals for EV charging and solar PV projects.
- Interpret CAD drawings and liaise with design teams for alignment.
- Ensure proposals meet regulatory and client requirements.
- Visit sites across the UK for data validation and bid support.
- Coordinate with supply chain and subcontractors for quotations and value engineering.
- Stay updated on industry standards and regulations, including BS 7671 and IET Code of Practice.
- Support internal stakeholders with pricing strategies and risk assessments.
- Lead or contribute to process improvements and divisional meetings.
Essential Qualifications and Skills:
- Experience as an estimator in EV charging and solar PV sectors.
- NVQ Level 3 Diploma in Electrical Installation or City & Guilds 2921.
- BS 7671 (18th Edition) qualification.
- Knowledge of IET Wiring Regulations and EV Charging standards.
- Understanding of electrical design, system layouts, and CAD.
- Proficiency in Excel, estimating software, and CAD tools.
- Attention to detail and project management skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management.
- Ability to work independently and in a hybrid environment.
Desirable Skills:
- Experience in civils and utilities sectors.
- Project management or site experience.
- Familiarity with estimating software like Trimble or Bluebeam.
- Knowledge of procurement processes.
