At Ground Control Geotechnical Solutions, we deliver innovative and sustainable geotechnical services that support safe and efficient infrastructure projects. We’re looking for an Assistant Driller to support our drilling teams on site and develop a career in geotechnical drilling.
What you’ll do:
- Support the Lead Driller with geotechnical drilling operations
- Assist with site preparation, rig set-up, and borehole drilling
- Handle drilling tools, rods, and consumables
- Collect and handle soil and rock samples for testing
- Support installation of monitoring equipment such as piezometers and standpipes
- Help maintain a safe, clean, and organised site
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with the safe operation of drilling rigs and equipment
- Carry out daily pre-start checks and routine equipment maintenance
- Follow HSE procedures, RAMS, and site safety rules
- Attend toolbox talks and site safety briefings
- Identify and report hazards, defects, or unsafe conditions
- Support accurate site records, drilling logs, and sample data
What we’re looking for:
- Some experience in drilling, construction, or site-based work
- Good awareness of health and safety
