We are now looking to fill this permanent position to be based at our Head Office in Chippenham. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, we are looking for a Junior Electrical Designer to join our small, supportive team working on a range of wastewater treatment projects. In this role, you will assist with the design of both bespoke and standard control panels, as well as electrical installation drawings and schematics.

What you will do:

  • Assist in creating 2D electrical schematics, layout drawings, and wiring diagrams using CAD software such as AutoCAD Electrical.
  • Help ensure designs meet safety, compliance, and performance requirements under guidance from senior engineers.
  • Collaborate with the wider engineering and production teams to support the integration of control systems into equipment and installations.
  • Support the panel build process by providing documentation and clarifying design intent to the assembly team.
  • Help document design changes and participate in design reviews to learn best practices and develop your skills.
  • Assist during testing, FAT (Factory Acceptance Testing), and SAT (Site Acceptance Testing) stages as needed.

What you’ll bring:

  • 1 – 2 years of proven experience in electrical design engineering role.
  • A formal qualification in Electrical or Engineering-related discipline (e.g., HNC/HND or equivalent).
  • A practical, hands-on approach to problem-solving and strong attention to detail.
  • Drive to learn and develop skills in AutoCAD Electrical, and other internal systems such as ERP (training provided), as well as developing your technical knowledge in a real-world engineering environment.
  • Demonstrate an awareness of electrical industry standards and how they may be practically applied.
  • A strong sense of responsibility and pride in your work.
  • Enthusiasm for continuous improvement and professional growth.
  • Eagerness to become familiar with the company’s ERP system.
  • You must be eligible to work in the UK; we are unable to offer visa sponsorship for this position.
